New parents Pokwang and Lee O’Brian couldn’t be happier about their newborn angel Malia Francine.
“Sobrang happy lang,” Pokwang said in an interview with showbiz reporter Jeff Fernando today, January 22. “Lahat positibo. Parang answered prayer [na sa] edad kong ‘to (47 years old), nakahabol [pa] kami ng isang anghel.”
“Sobrang masaya dahil unang beses para sa ‘kin,” Lee added.
While many believe that the two were inspired by the primetime fantaserye “La Luna Sangre” on their chosen name for their daughter, they revealed that in truth, Malia is named after her grandmothers.
“‘Yung Malia kasi, pinagsama ‘yung Marilyn, ‘yung nanay niya (Lee), at Gloria naman ‘yung nanay ko, so naging Malia,” Pokwang explained.
“And then it was like a week later, ‘La Luna Sangre’ came out and we were like, ‘Huh, coincidence,’” Lee continued with a laugh.
When asked if the two already have plans to tie the knot anytime soon now that their baby girl has entered the world, Lee answered, “Right now, we’re just focused on Malia. She needs all of our attention.”
