Pop-rock superstar singer Yeng Constantino has shared the concept behind her new single "Pinipigil," and also disclosed details about her new album.
In an exclusive interview with Yeng today, January 18, she shared that the lyrics and tune for "Pinipigil" are actually just accidental, just like her creative process with most of her songs. The inspiration for "Pinipigil" sprung from a time when she was having second thoughts on buying a camera.

"Lumabas lang yung, 'pinipigil-pigil, pigil ko ang damdamin', Yeng said, quoting a part of the lyrics. Eventually, Yeng was able to buy the camera, and she continued to finish the song with a different meaning from then on.
For its music video, Yeng played as an alien who found love with a human, played by comedian Empoy.
Why did she choose Empoy to be her leading man? Yeng revealed, "Matagal ko nang gusto talagang makatrabaho si Empoy. As in five, six years ago [pa]." She then added that the comedian was busy before so they weren't able to push through.
"Pinipigil" is part of Yeng's album set to be released this year. She shared, "Ang plano namin is one single every month tapos it's either April or March namin ire-release 'yung buong album."
According to Yeng, her producer Jonathan Manalo thinks that there is a huge R&B feel to it. "That's interesting kasi hindi ko akalain na magiging ganun 'yung sound ng album," she said.
