"Wildflower" actress Aiko Melendez's dream project in showbiz is anything that will let her work with son Andrei Yllana.
“That’s my dream project," Aiko said in a story by PEP yesterday, September 24. “I’ve always been praying for that or even kahit hindi man lang movie, kahit sa 'MMK (Maalaala Mo Kaya)' talaga."
Aiko understands that working with her 19-year-old son would need a different approach, but she is excited to take on the task.
“Siyempre it’s different when you work with your son. It’s a different ambience, a different discipline, so I’m very excited for that," she said.
In spite of being in the business since the late 80's, Aiko said she is not a stage mother to Andrei. The actress leaves his career to the guidance of his manager Ogie Diaz and Star Magic.
She said, “Ang sinasabi ko lang is, ‘O, anong next project mo? Anong gagawin mo?’ That’s it.”
Andrei was part of the ABS-CBN afternoon serye, "The Greatest Love." Meanwhile, Aiko is part of the top-rating primetime series "Wildflower."
