What Toni, Piolo, and Bela learned from ‘Last Night’

Because they’re tackling a film that’s completely different, Toni Gonzaga and Piolo Pascual are bound to learn something new from “Last Night.”

They shared that they learned to value life even more after working on a movie that talks about suicide and death.

“Maraming realizations after watching the film... about sa buhay mo,” Toni said during their bloggers conference recently. “Mapapatanong ka, what are you living for, what is your purpose? Tapos mari-realize mo kung bakit hindi ka dapat maggi-give up in life and love.”

Piolo added, “‘Di naman tayo gagawa ng film para isadlak ka. Paiiyakin ka, papatawanin ka, and it will make you fall in love and make you want to live life to the fullest,” he said.

Writer Bela Padilla also shared that the film is a reminder for everyone to never look down on other’s problems.

“Lahat ng mga problema natin, seryoso in equal ways. Ito ‘yung binigay sa’tin, ito ‘yung kaya natin. You have to find a person to help you out,” she said. “We want to give people hope na when there’s darkness, there’s light. There will always be love.”

“Last Night” is directed by Bb. Joyce Bernal. It opens in cinemas September 27.
