It was an emotional day on the set of “Umagang Kay Ganda” today, September 15, as one of their mainstay hosts Atom Araullo bid farewell not only to the show, but to the Kapamilya network.
Atom got teary-eyed after receiving well-wishes from his co-hosts Amy Perez, George Carino, Winnie Cordero, Ariel, Ureta, and Anthony Taberna before he telling them, “Mami-miss mo kayo.”
“Iba rin naman kasi ‘yung matagal na panahon,” he added.
It has been 13 years since Atom joined ABS-CBN and now that he’s leaving, Atom didn’t forget to pay gratitude to everyone who trusted him and helped him get to who he has become.
"Maraming, maraming salamat sa lahat ng mga naging bahagi ng aking buhay,” he said.
Through a statement posted on the official Facebook page of “Umagang Kay Ganda”, Atom explained that he has decided to leave his “amazing adventure” with ABS-CBN to “explore emerging opportunities and challenges beyond the organization.”
The network also extended its support on Atom’s decision:
"ABS-CBN has allowed journalist Atom Araullo to explore new interests in film, broadcast and digital media outside of the company. Atom says the training and exposure he got from the network as reporter and TV host have equipped him to try out other opportunities in the media industry here and abroad.”

Atom did not only serve as one of the most trusted journalists and news reporters of ABS-CBN, he has also become a big heartthrob to many (for obvious reasons). So, we’re sure some Kapamilyas may take this news with a heavy heart. But we’re excited to see him take on bigger things in the future!
Best of luck, Atom!
