What did Ogie tell Billy after he bagged

International Kapamilya artist Billy Crawford is grateful to have been chosen as host of the Philippine version of kiddie talent show "Little Big Shots."

In a press conference held yesterday, August 8, Billy shared, "Sa totoo (lang), hindi ko po alam kung bakit napunta sa akin. Pero the best thing I can say is, I'm really thankful."

According to ABS-CBN business unit head Lui Andrada, Billy was handpicked by Warner Bros., the production company who owns the talent franchise.

Lui said, "Ang totoo po niyan, nagpa-audition po kami para sa host. Kasi this is the first time na makakatrabaho namin ang Warner. So, sila po ang may final say kung sino ang magho-host."

He continued that out of all who auditioned, Warner chose Billy because he's the best at establishing chemistry.

"Sabi po nila (Warner), Billy has the best chemistry with the kids," Lui said.

When Billy got the confirmation about the post, he said that the first to message him was The Songwriter Ogie Alcasid, who was also considered to host and auditioned for it as well.

"Sabi niya, 'Bro I'm happy for you, I'm so proud of you. I will always be right here behind you,'" Billy said. "Bata pa lang ako kilala ko na si Kuya Ogie. It's nothing about competition talaga. I'm still shocked na napunta nga sa akin. Pero, wala ako masabi kay Kuya Ogie."

So, how different is "Little Big Shots" from all the hosting stints Billy has done for the Kapamilya network?

"I was nervous actually in dealing with kids," Billy admitted.
He said that in previously hosting "Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids," the children he dealt with were professional performers already. But for "Little Big Shots," all the talents are "strangers" to him, thus, making a connection extra challenging.

"Kailangan ko silang kilalanin. That was the hardest part, dun ako ninenerbiyos," he said.

Catch "Little Big Shots" weekend nights on ABS-CBN starting August 12.
