Isabelle Daza responds to critics of her controversial 'business card' Instagram post

Isabelle Daza has responded to the backlash she received for a recent Instagram story concerning the Japanese way of handing over calling cards.

In the story, Isabelle crumpled a business card which was handed over by her sister Ava using both hands.

Many netizens, including influencer Tricia Gosingtian, deemed Isabella’s statements “culturally insensitive”  and “demeaning” as it poked fun at Japanese business card etiquette. In Japan, using both hands to offer a business card is a sign of respect.

In a recent statement to Preview, the actress dismissed the controversy, calling her actions “satirical”.

She said, "Well it was private joke that I did with my sister Ava. That's basically it. It annoys me sometimes that my sister does it because she's not Japanese. It’s satire."

This is not the first time Isabelle received flak online for an Instagram Story. Last April, she was under fire for pitting the purchase of an expensive hat to feeding starving African children.
