What did Alex’s boyfriend Mikee contribute to the Gonzaga sissums' new business?

Last August 12, Toni and Alex Gonzaga’s passion project, milk tea shop Happy Cup, opened its first pop-up store and sixth branch along Mother Ignacia Avenue, right across from the sisters’ second home ABS-CBN.

“It's not like a cafe shop where you can hang out or make tambay,” explained Toni in an interview published on PEP. "It's really a drink na you buy and you go for take-out.”

This pop-up store wouldn’t have been possible without the help of Alex’s boyfriend, Mikee Morada. Toni shared that Mikee owned the lot the store was on. "He gave us a special price,” she said. “But eventually, it'll still go back to the real price.”

She shared that everything seemed to fall into place when she and Alex decided to start a business together. "There was already an available place, the stocks, everything really just fell into place. We said, since we prayed over it, maybe it was really meant for us."

Since the beginning of their business venture last June, the sisters have been very hands-on. Alex shared how they divided the work by saying she's more focused on the manpower and operational side of things. “Doon ako sa sino ang tao ngayon, anong kailangan, ang Ate more on sa marketing, sa look.”
