Former PBA player Mark Cardona revealed he was first diagnosed with bipolar syndrome before his suicide attempt, on his interview with “Rated K” aired last night, August 13.
He shared that his ex-girlfriend encouraged him to consult a psychiatrist when she noticed “something wrong” with him.
He was then prescribed with meds which at first made him feel down.
Mark then confessed that things really got worse when his then-girlfriend left him.
Then he explained how he turned to the meds that were there to help him get better to end his suffering once and for all.
Mark explained, “Siguro parang nasanay na ako dun sa medicine na tine-take ko and then ang dami kong gamot nun eh. So sobrang depressed ko nun, stressed. 'Di ko alam kung anong gagawin ko. Na-depress din ako sa basketball kasi hindi na ako nagagamit and then nakita ko 'yung gamot ko. Then tinake ko lahat, more than 100 po siguro.
Fortunately, Mark recovered and realized how much he regretted that decision, especially when he saw his kids again. He said to himself, “Ba’t ko nagawa ‘yun?
