It's evident that Gerald Anderson has utmost respect for the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
This perhaps stems from his deep familial roots in the military (Gerald stated in a previous interview that all the men in his family were soldiers), but it could also be because he's portraying a man in uniform in the upcoming film "AWOL".
"['AWOL'] shows kung ano 'yung pinagdadaanan ng mga sundalo natin," Gerald said in his cover story for MEGA Man's August 2017 issue.
According to the actor, he'll take his job in show business and his being a triathlete over being a soldier any day.
"Hindi biro 'yung ginagawa nila," he explained.
In "AWOL," Gerald transforms into Lt. Abel Ibarra who, armed with his tactical knowledge and deadly skills, goes on a quest to protect his family from the man who pulverized his team, and consequently, attempts to also destroy his life.
Directed by Enzo Williams, "AWOL" is Skylight Films and Cinebro's official entry to the 2017 Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino.
