There’s no denying AshLloyd’s chemistry in “Finally Found Someone.”
They throw their lines to each other so naturally that we’d have to stop and think: was that scripted or was that ad libbed?
In an exclusive interview with Star Cinema, John Lloyd Cruz revealed that a lot of them were unscripted. Among those was his bookstore punchline, “Nandito na ako [‘yung future husband mo].”
John Lloyd explained that those scenes were the product of having a very collaborative team.
“Pag sobrang collaborative ng mga tao sa paligid mo, ‘yung mga eksenang nasulat mas yumayaman pa, so maraming naging ganun sa proseso namin. Sobra ko na-enjoy at na-appreciate dahil mas ‘yun ang bumubuo ng pelikula kaysa kung ano lang ‘yung naplano na at nasulat na,” he said.
He added that director Theodore Boborol gives them the freedom to break free from the written script.
“May tiwala siya, ina-allow ka niyang lumabas dun sa kung ano lang ‘yung nakasulat and i-explore ‘yung kung ano sa tingin niyo ‘yung magpapaganda sa eksena,” he said.
John Lloyd also shared his favorite scene with leading lady Sarah Geronimo: the part where her character confronted him about not being able to tell the truth.
“Gustung-gusto ko ‘yung eksenang ‘yun kasi doon ko talaga nakita, na-experience ‘yung bagong Sarah in terms of Sarah being an actress,” he said. “It was so raw, it was so real na talagang hindi lang ako sa eksena naapektuhan, kahit tapos na ‘yung eksena napaisip ako sa binigay niya.”
But John Lloyd also admitted that the “lungkot-kembot” scene has a special place in his heart.
“Hindi ko inakala na magagawa ko ‘yun, pero dahil kay Ted Boborol, naniwala ako na magagawa ko, so nagawa ko siya,” he said.
That’s definitely one of our favorite scenes too! 😂
“Finally Found Someone” now on its third week in cinemas. It’s also showing in cinemas worldwide.
