Despite the numerous rumors surrounding her personal life, Sharon Cuneta remains stronger than ever.
On "Tonight with Boy Abunda" yesterday, June 2, the Megastar addressed issues of her marriage with Kiko and her alleged bankruptcy with grace and poise.
ON MARRIAGE WITH KIKO
Sharon maintained that her marriage with Kiko is not without problems, but they always manage to solve them.
"We don't have a perfect marriage, and who does?" Sharon said. "There are times na gusto mong iwan. There are times na gusto mong patayin. Ganoon lang naman, lahat mag-asawa. I'm just being frank and honest."
She added, "It's just that we didn't grow up in the same household, with the same parents. Of course, we are two different people."
ON STATUS OF HER FINANCES
Sharon also explained her Facebook post about being the "poorest, most cash-strapped billionaire," sharing that she owes a lot of money, but not something she can't handle.
She said, "Please understand that when wealthy people say they owe money and have no one to help them, all they mean is that, 'They have no one to help them,' and that 'they actually have enough money to pay for what they have to, but just do not have enough cash to buy their dream house in, let's say America, which costs anywhere between under $4 million to $15 million,"
ON HER INVESTMENTS
Sharon further mentioned that her investments in the past are enough to tide over her debts.
"My investments cost 8 to 9 figures and it's not easy to sell something that costs P150 million. That's like $3 million. Ibig lang sabihin lang ng, 'I owe so much money and there's no one to help me.' Ang parang ano ko lang, 'kung nandito lang ang daddy ko.' Ang dami niyang tinulungan yumaman, tapos wala pala akong malalapitan."
ON BEING "ROBBED" OF HER INHERITANCE
Sharon also emotionally revealed that she and her siblings did not receive any inheritance money from their late parents Pablo Cuneta and Elaine Gamboa, saying that they "trusted the wrong people."
"My mom, a nurse of hers stole the money that came from the sale of our house from Dasmariñas where we grew up. I mean, wala kaming minana," she related.
"I HAVE BEEN A MILLIONAIRE BEFORE I MARRIED KIKO"
Despite all the money problems, Sharon is confident that she can move past them.
"I have enough. I am sorry and I don't mean to brag, I am not bankrupt. I have been a billionaire before I married Kiko... He's a very good man, that's why I married him," she said.
ON GIVING HER LIFE FOR KIKO
Asked why she excluded her husband in an Instagram post about people she would "give her life for," the answer was simple: Kiko is not her child.
"Kasi pinanganak ko iyong mga iyon (KC, Frankie, Miel) at iyong isa (Miguel) ay inampon ko at sinumpa ko na maging nanay. Hindi ko naman pinagbuntis si Kiko," she said with a laugh.
Sharon and Kiko celebrated their 21st anniversary last April.
