No one can question Edward Barber’s support for Maymay Entrata now, especially after he got on stage twice at her grand album launch at SM City North EDSA Sky Dome last night, June 21.
The first time he joined Maymay was when they sang their hit single “Baliw” and then later on to give her flowers after a performance.
Edward described Maymay’s debut album as something that has depth and he’s very proud of her for that.
He told us after the event, “It’s an album that’s gonna have a lot of meaning to everyone. I remember her telling me that almost every song has a meaning, there’s a story behind it. I’m super proud of her that she got it done.”
It contains a handful of fun, uplifting songs, but Edward shared that “Baliw” still has got to be his favorite.
“’Baliw’, because it’s the first song I’ve ever sung and I’m not the most fond of singing, so it was a big deal to record that with her inside the ('Pinoy Big Brother') house. That’s probably my favorite because it’s got the most memories,” he said.
The two have been each other’s friend since they entered “PBB” and their relationship has only gotten stronger since.
“There are some things that definitely changed, but there are some things that’ll never ever change.” He added, “Since August 6 where I first met her, I’ve been with her almost every day. From inside the house and even sometimes on our free days, of course we grew closer. Super strong ang friendship namin.”
Then we asked him to say whatever he wants to Maymay and his message was just heart-melting!
Edward started, “Maymay, keep being you because what you’re doing now is inspiring so many people, you’re making so many people happy. You’ve helped me grow as a person as well.”
“You’ve always been there for me so thank you, thank you so much for that. I’m so proud of you. The Maymay I knew at the beginning of ‘PBB’ can never ever do what she just did on stage,” he continued.
He paused for a bit before saying, “So sobrang proud ako sa ‘yo, Tagalog ‘yun ah!”
Catch Edward and Maymay in the upcoming film “Loving In Tandem” and on the primetime series “La Luna Sangre.”
