Black or white? Warm or cold? Heart or mind?
The good thing is there are no right or wrong answers to these questions. Sometimes, you just really have to choose what feels right.
Star Cinema’s latest offering “Dear Other Self" centers on the character played by Jodi Sta. Maria, a woman who will be torn between a life of responsibilities as Becky and a life of adventure as Rebecca.
The film had its red carpet premiere at the SM Megamall last night, May 17, complete with the fans, the entire team behind the film, and of course, celebrity guests.
Kapamilya stars went out to show their love for the film and you bet we didn’t let them go without asking them the big question: Are you more Becky or Rebecca?
Bryan Santos, Maris Racal, Marlo Mortel, Barbie Imperial chose Becky, as the one who stayed home and stick to her responsibilities.
“Kasi ganoon din ako eh, kung para sa family ko mag-stay talaga ako,” Barbie explained. While Marlo said, “Mas pipiliin ko si Becky, kasi ako sobrang family guy talaga ako. Hindi ko maiiwan ‘yung mga responsibilities ko para sa sarili ko. After ko ma-fulfill lahat ‘yug tsaka ko lang mapapagbigyan ‘yung sarili ko.”
Kira Balinger chose Rebecca, the one who followed her heart and went on an adventure, and so did Gretchen Ho.
“Feeling ko dati Becky ako, ngayon Rebecca na! Kasi dati medyo takot ako na mag-take ng leap, parang mayroon nagho-hold back sa akin lagi. Pero ngayon Rebecca na 'ko, kasi wala na akong ano---parang go lang ako nang go!” said Gretchen.
Nikki Valdez and MOR DJ Jhai Ho, however, refused to choose saying that they relate to both characters.
“I’m a little of both, because I had responsibilities at an early age. I supported my family. Sometimes you tend to forget about yourself, minsan gusto mo mag-travel, gusto mong bilhin ‘to, iisipin mo, gagawin ko ba siya ngayon? Or ‘wag muna, ipagbabaliban muna. I think I’m a little bit of everything kasi adventurous din naman ako,” said Nikki.
Also starring Xian Lim and Joseph Marco, and helmed by Veronica Velasco, “Dear Other Self” is now showing in cinemas nationwide.
