There’s nowhere to go but up for basketball star Kobe Paras and his fame.
He gets recognized so often that one of his teammates in Creigton University likened him to the famous Kardashian clan.
“Sometimes I’d joke, ‘cause people would stop him in the mall, ‘Oh my God, you’re Kobe Paras.’ I’ll be like, ‘Man, this is Kardashian status,’” said Creighton Guard Jordan Scurry in a feature about Kobe on FOX College Sports.
But Kobe isn't just the famous guy for his teammates. They also recognize his passion for the game while representing his motherland.
"He didn’t leave just his family behind, he left an entire country behind just to pursue his dreams," said another teammate.
Explaining why he decided to pursue his dreams in another country, Kobe said he just wanted to reach them on his own.
"When I was in the Philippines, everything was being handed to me in a way which really wasn’t something I wanted to do," he explained.
“The question for me, is why not be in the State? Why not be more successful and be more passionate about what you’re doing?" he added.
