McCoy de Leon didn’t know he was in for a sweet and fun night yesterday, March 17, when his fans from McLisse Worldwide (one of the groups supporting him and on-screen partner Elisse Joson) surprised him with a post-birthday dinner.
The Hashtags member welcomed his 22nd birthday inside the “Pinoy Big Brother” house last month, where he also received a surprise from Elisse: a cake she did herself, but something she didn’t get to make until she fulfilled her production assistant duties for Direk Rory B. Quintos.

At the birthday dinner, McCoy was surprised with food, gifts, cakes (one being an “edible” Bahay ni Kuya), and a set-up of blue and white balloons, as well as printed photos that chronicled his infancy to young adulthood hanging from the ceiling.
“Para sa’kin, patanda na nang patanda pero ‘wag dapat isipin ‘yon kasi kailangan isipin mo bata pa rin, happy lang, enjoy lang,” he told us about his “22 na ako” feelings, in between dinner and his catching-up sesh with his fans.
Even when he keeps this positive attitude about staying a child at heart, McCoy also knows that turning a year older means growing richer in experience and learning.
“‘Yun naman talaga ang gusto kong mangyari lalo na sa ngayon, marami po akong natututunan talaga,” he said.
He just got back to the Outside World two weeks ago after “PBB” wrapped up its “Lucky Season 7” edition, and in his return he took with him an important realization about his career, and perhaps, his life in general.
“Masasabi ko na ngayon mas maging thankful sa lahat ng nangyayari, lesson sa lahat ng pangyayari rin na na-experience. Tsaka mas magbigay importansya sa lahat ng mga blessings na dumarating,” he related.
