Former Caloocan mayor Macario “Boy” Asistio has passed away. He was 80 years old. 

According to reports, Boy suffered cardiac arrest. His death was confirmed by long-time partner Nadia 

Montenegro on Instagram today, January 6.

In a separate post, Nadia dedicated a message for her late partner.

She wrote, "If every partner were like you, no woman would feel incomplete. If all fathers were like you, no child would feel unloved. If every public servant were like you, every community would not be a disgrace."
 

"If every human being had your heart, smile and compassion,this world would be a better place."
 

"Tart!" she continued, "All I have now is a heart filled with joy seeing and feeling the overflowing love from everyone you've touched. I now carry a smile knowing you are with Our Heavenly Father. I am at peace knowing that the gates of heaven has opened for you to live eternally."
 

"Thank you Tart for the best 27 years of my life. We will be alright SweetTart! I promise you that! You will always be in my [heart]. I will just have to learn to live life without you. I will miss you so much my King! Rest na Tart! 
 

Nadia ended the message with:
 

"I will love you till my dying day! You are irreplacable."
 

Boy's children also shared their goodbyes on social media.

Alyanna Asistio wrote, "Thank you Dad for everything. I will miss everything about you most especially your beautiful smile that lightens up my every day."

Ynna Asistio praised her father's spirit, saying, "See you soon Daddy! You fought 'til the end but it's time for you to go home and rest. I love you."

Boy served as a Caloocan City mayor from 1980 to 1995.
