'My Ex and Whys': A story about love and forgiveness

The Making of "My Ex and Whys" is now online, and it will make the hype around this movie reach a fever pitch!

"MEAW" will be in theaters this February 15, and here are the five things you need to learn about the movie before you see it.

1. "MEAW" is a simple story told in a new way.

"MEAW" is a simple story with unique conventions.

"MEAW" director Cathy Garcia-Molina said, "We wanted some elements different, shots different while telling a simple story. Gagamit ng ibang paraan, or ibang tools to tell the story."

2. "MEAW" is as real as it gets.

"Yung characters saka 'yung pag-acting namin dito, it's so real. Pati 'yung mga eksena, came from real life events sa mga couples na nakausap namin," Enrique Gil relayed.

LizQuen's characters in the film are very relatable, and its theme of loving, losing, and finding love again is universal. As Direk Cathy said, "Halos lahat tayo, kung hindi man naloko na, may kilalang naloko na."

3. "MEAW" is Cali's (Liza Soberano) story.

"It's about a girl." Direk Cathy said, "Lumaki siya na napaligiran siya ng mga babae, nanay niya, titas niya, na niloko ng mga lalaki. She grew up believing that men would just hurt you, until she met a guy who has promised never to hurt her, and she believed, only to get hurt by the same guy."

4. "MEAW" is also a story about mistakes and trust.

Enrique explained, "Si Gio naman ang pamilya niya, mga playboy. During high school, he was part of a rock band so drummer siya sa school. Then he meets Cali na super na-in love siya, through the process nagkamali siya, he cheated. That's the cause of their breakup."

5. It was a challenge for LizQuen

Direk Cathy said, "I was excited to give Liza and Quen new roles that they have not taken on before...make them go through emotions that they have not experienced before."

However, the lauded filmmaker continued, "It was a challenge working with the two knowing that the emotions needed for their characters ay hindi pa nila naranasan sa totoong buhay."

"Liza is playing a more mature role, she's taking on a girl who has been hurt. In the same manner na si Enrique, hindi niya pa nasubukan 'yung makapanloko, at balikan 'yung niloko niya."

The same sentiment was echoed by Enrique, who said, "It's hard to portray a role or a character or give a scene na hindi mo pa nararamdaman. So si Direk Cathy talaga 'yung nag-explain sa amin, tumutok sa amin."
