John Lloyd Cruz is not closing any doors to going back to doing teleseryes, and claims that he doesn't even own the door, really. 

In an interview published on PEP today, January 3, John Lloyd explained, "Hindi naman po ako ang may ayaw, hindi lang po siguro siya nangyayari. Kung nakikita niyo naman, in the last three, four years, I was able to prioritize my film, which is not bad at all."
 

He continued, “At saka, hindi naman talaga ako ang may hawak. I work for the network. It’s their call, not mine."
 

John Lloyd also addressed the public perception that he prefers doing films over teleseryes. It is of note that the last teleserye where he starred as lead actor was 2012's "A Beautiful Affair" which concluded in 2013, almost five years ago.
 

"’Yun ang problema, parang nagkakaroon ng misconception ang audience na ayaw ko na. Unang-una po, hindi po ako ang may-ari ng kumpanya, so, it’s not my call," he clarified. 
 

According to JLC, he pays no mind to which form of storytelling he takes on, as long as the story itself is moving. 
 

He said, "Basta ako, I’m always after the story. Kung ano 'yung ikukuwento natin, kung ano 'yung gusto nating ibahagi sa audience, sa mga fans," he maintained.
 

"Siyempre, hindi naman puwedeng bangkuhan lang ang mga pangalan," he continued, "Sa panahon ngayon, we should never take for granted 'yung content."
