Rufa Mae Quinto recently gave birth to her daughter Athena and you'll just see the joy on her face whilst talking about it. But this first-time mom admitted that it wasn’t at all that breezy getting there.
“Four layers of your skin hihiwain, alam mo 'yung ganun?!” said Rufa Mae on her interview with "TV Patrol’s" Mario Dumaual last Wednesday, February 22, which, as of this writing, has almost one million views on Facebook.
She also shared about her struggle with producing breast milk after giving birth and the help she received from friends, including fellow first-time mom Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla who donated some of her own breast milk for Athena.
“Gusto ko magpasalamat sa lahat ng sumuporta sa akin,” said Rufa Mae. “Sabi ko, ‘Lord, ‘wag niyo po gutumin ang anak ko.’ ‘Di ba, kasi mukhang gutom na gutom na!”
“Kailangan may gatas,” she added. “It’s really the breast… the breast is the best! Pumping is the best… in the west!”
But all that was beyond worth it in the end, she realized. “Sacrifice din talaga. Pero ‘pag nakita mo 'yung anak mo. Sobrang ligaya na ibang klase!”
And in a classic Rufa Mae way she exclaimed: “Happy-happy again! No more postpartum effect, ‘di ba? Continuous recovery for more ‘Todo na ‘to!’”
She then burst out a laugh with Mario, and we bet you will too after you watch the full interview here:
