Filipino-Croatian actor Mark Neumann addressed playing a supporting role to Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla in the primetime fantaserye “La Luna Sangre.”
Despite having played leading roles before transferring to the Kapamilya network, Mark said in an interview with PEP that he doesn’t mind the change.
“In England, I was a factory worker, newspaper boy. I was a warehouse cleaner,” he started. “For me, it doesn’t really matter as long as I can expand my craft. Any role is a role. Work is work.”
However, in recent episodes, Mark’s character Harbin, a Moonchaser, has been getting more exposure and even has speaking lines now as compared to when he started.
He recalled his first relatively long dialogue on the show.
“There was one time pinasa sa akin ang script. Mahaba ang lines. I wasn’t ready. I think three pages siya and kailangan ko siyang i-memorize in 20 minutes,” he shared.
Thankfully, he was able to perform with no problem.
Mark went on to explain that it was Daniel who decided to give him that part of the script because the lines, which explained medical terms, seemed more in character with Harbin who has police background than with Tristan who has a background in mechanical work.
“Very passionate si Daniel sa kanyang character,” Mark praised his co-star. “It’s really good if an actor knows his character. Nako-control din niya ang performance niya nang maayos.”
And as Mark’s character continued to play a more active role on the show, he began to have scenes with the leading pair KathNiel.
“Napakabait nila,” he said about the two when asked about his working experience with them. “And really chill lang sa set. Napaka-down to earth sila. Super masayang kausap.”
