Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina has always been famously frank, but she's gone on record again chastising newbie actors who, in her own words, "nagyayabang."
"Gigil na gigil ako sa mga artistang wala pang napapatunayan, nauna pang magyabang. Hindi ko keri talaga," the filmmaker said during her recent Bloggers Conference.
"Kasi sa akin, parang, 'Why are you even there? Hindi ka naman artista, hindi ka naman sisikat, if not for the people who supported you and believed in you. Ngayong aarte-arte ka, ayaw mong magpa-picture? Ang kapal ng mukha mo 'di ba?!"
Direk Cathy refused to name names to the media but proudly stated that she's upfront about her feelings towards her objects of annoyance. Walang plastikan kay Direk Cathy.
She continued, "I have worked with John Lloyd Cruz, and now I have worked with Sharon Cuneta, Robin Padilla. These are stars that have made it and who have proven themselves. Hindiko nakitaan ng ganyan."
"Tapos ikaw kabago-bago mo, ganyan ka? Ay naku gusto ko durugin!"
"To me, you have no right. No one has the right na magyabang ka diyan at ipagmalaki mo kung ano ang narating mo, dahil wala pa."
Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina currently has a film showing in cinemas, "Unexpectedly Yours," starring Sharon Cuneta and Robin Padilla in their first film together after 16 years. The rom-com also stars Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto.
