What’s life without polarizing experiences – the good and the bad? Though we’ve long known this truth and have been experiencing it, it’s hard to deny that when it’s tough, it really feels tough. Even opening our eyes and getting up in the morning could feel like a chore.
Not to delight in other people’s misfortune, but it feels comforting to know that people other than ourselves also have life kinks to iron out.
And for the young, especially, an excellent source of deeper inspiration are the older ones who have been there and done that. So we sought advice from industry veterans, “Hanggang Saan” lead actress Sylvia Sanchez and “La Luna Sangre’s” Samantha Imperial Maricar Reyes, for straightforward words of wisdom to equip our hearts for the year ahead.
“Don’t dwell on it (problems/negativity) too much kasi buhay ka pa…,” actress Maricar Reyes said in our exclusive chat. “There’s a reason why you’re still here, so find out what that reason is.”
Sylvia, likewise, wants us to acknowledge the pain and the problem, but don’t forget the next step: Move on.
“Iiyak niyo, and then after that, make sure to pray tapos tumayo, move on.
She’s a firm believer that life is a choice, and that choice rests in our hands.
