Maricar Reyes-Poon found an interesting and memorable treasure while decluttering her home last October 31 - her diploma and certificates from her time as a doctor.
She wrote in her caption, “I had put these away till i found a more permanent place for them. #Memories #ReyesMD ay #PoonMD na pala 😉 #LuponNgMedisina”
Maricar received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Ateneo de Manila University and her degree in Medicine from the University of Santo Tomas before successfully passing the board exam to be a licensed physician.
She has since stopped pursuing a career in medicine to continue her acting and modeling career, as well as managing her business “Choco Liquor Cakes by Maricar.”
Despite all the studying she did to become a licensed physician, Maricar admitted last July 12 in an interview on “Magandang Buhay” that she no longer saw being a doctor as a probable full-time job or work.
"Ngayon ang tingin ko sa kanya, ayaw ko siyang pagkakitaan. Parang gusto kong mag-medical mission,” she said.
"Masaya ako na ito ang na-choose ko, masaya din naman ako sa kinalabasan ng buhay-buhay," Maricar added.
Maricar and her husband Richard Poon released a book earlier this year on marriage entitled “10 Things We Fight About.” She is currently part of the primetime fantaserye “La Luna Sangre.”
