The country’s very own Rock N’ Roll King Joey “Pepe” Smith is under observation after suffering from a stroke last Tuesday, November 14.
He was rushed to Metro Antipolo Hospital after complaining about a strange feeling on his tongue. He was moved to an Acute Stroke Unit at around 3 a.m.
ABS-CBN News got hold of the hospital staff taking care of Pepe and it’s reported that his vital signs are stable. However, he still needs to undergo tests with a neurologist and other doctors.
This is Pepe’s third stroke since 2016. He is turning 70 this December 25, Christmas day.
Together with the Juan de la Cruz band, Pepe established Pinoy rock in the 70s and came up with hit songs like “Ang Himig Natin,” “Balong Malalim,” and “Beep Beep.”
