Here’s why Aga chose ‘Seven Sundays’ as his comeback film

Aga Muhlach couldn’t say no to “Seven Sundays”!

In his Bloggers Conference yesterday, October 5, the veteran actor, who had been on a film hiatus for almost seven years, told the story of how Star Creatives

COO Malou N. Santos and Creative Head Olivia Lamasan offered him the role of Allan in “Seven Sundays” and how it was one he couldn’t refuse.

“Sinabi [nila] sa akin, there’s this movie,” he began.

“‘Di mo kailangang magpapayat, sabi nila, this role is different. It’s not a love story, it’s the story of a family, magkakapatid kayong lalaki.”

He pressed, “That caught my interest kaagad.”

“Parang this is the right time, this is a good movie to get back in the scene again. Because I was missing it already so I said yes right away.”

According to Aga, the actors attached to the film were also one of the reasons why he wanted to be a part of “Seven Sundays”

He enthused, “[I thought] it would be nice to do a movie with the new generation now with Enrique Gil, in his 20s, and then you have Dingdong in his 30s…and then nag-backtrack ako nang onti, ano bang naririnig ko tungkol kay Enrique, kay
Dingdong? All good things. Humble people.”

“With Direk Cathy [attached], sabi ko, perfect! Ano pang hihingin ko ‘di ba?”

“Seven Sundays” tells the story of the four Bonifacio siblings who are forced to return to their childhood home when their Tatay Manuel is diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. The main question: as they confront their history, will they be able to reconnect and find redemption in each other?

The film, which also stars Cristine Reyes, will open in cinemas this October 11.
