One moment has led to the conception of horror film "The Ghost Bride."
Enrico Santos, Concept Development and New Media head, revealed the story behind it.
"Kami ng kaibigan ko na si Joel Mercado, gumawa kami ng kuwento sa lamay ng kaibigan naming Chinese. 'Di ba sa mga lamay ng mga Chinese, may kotse na papel, bahay na papel, maraming mga dollars na papel na sinusunog? Nakita namin sa isang sulok, may isang nakatayo na mannequin. Gawa sa papel, naka-traditional na Chinese costume at nakatingin sa amin. It struck us. Doon pinanganak ang 'Ghost Bride,'" he shared.
Writers Charlson Ong and Cathy Camarillo and director Chito Rono also shared other interesting facts about the film.
"Tumawag sa'kin si Enrico Santos. Sabi niya may project na interesting na tungkol daw sa ghost bride. So we need to focus doon. Horror siya na based on certain traditions. It's really a story tungkol sa pagmamahal sa pamilya that transcends death," Charlson explained.
Direk Chito echoed Charlson's sentiments adding, "'Ghost Bride' will bring you to a world that is not very familiar, but very interesting. It's a tradition that... let's say you never realize that was there at all."
In the end, the cast members related what they want moviegoers to take home with them through "The Ghost Bride."
"Definitely may mga surprises kasi it's a horror film but ang kagandahan kasi nito, hindi siya 100% fiction," Alice Dixson teased.
"'Yung experience, roller coaster of emotions. Matatakot ka. Lahat ibibigay sa'yo ng 'The Ghost Bride.' Napakagandang script. Napakagagaling ng co-actors ko," Christian Bables said, on the other hand.
Meanwhile, Kim Chiu and Matteo Guidicelli assured that moviegoers will not only be entertained but will also learn about Chinese culture.
"It's gonna be very, very thrilling and you will learn a lot about lumang Chinese culture which is very, very interesting," Matteo relayed.
"Ang daming experience. Ang dami nilang emosyon na mararamdaman. Ihanda nila 'yung mga sarili nila. Magsama sila ng maraming kasama. I'm sure mage-enjoy sila sa pelikulang 'to," Kim Chiu ended.
