Celebrities show support for World Mental Health Day

Celebrities used their voice on social media to raise awareness for World Mental Health day yesterday, October 10.

Nadine Lustre was first to post a black and white photo of a big semicolon with the hashtag #KeepGoing on her Instagram Stories.

The semicolon represents a writer’s intention to end a sentence but instead continues it, and is the perfect symbol to keep living life despite wanting to end it.

Nadine also followed up her post with a note saying “You are stronger than depression.”

Nadine’s boyfriend James Reid and his siblings Lauren and Jack also shared the photo of the semicolon on their social media accounts, along with Gary, Gab and Kiana Valenciano, Sam Concepcion, Bret Jackson, and Alexander Diaz.

Arci Munoz, Gretchen Ho, and Bianca Gonzalez also shared their support for the cause.

“You can overcome this. You are not alone. ❤ #KeepGoing” Bianca said.

In the Philippines, the Department of Health established the Hopeline Project, a phone-based counseling service that aims to prevent suicide cases in the country.
