Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina is all praises for Enrique Gil.
The director, who has worked with the talented young actor in film twice now, first with "My Ex and Whys" and now on "Seven Sundays", said in the upcoming movie's press conference last Sunday, October 8, that he has improved markedly acting-wise.
"Parang ang plastik sabihin na every time I work with him, he gets better but he does," she said, lightheartedly.
"In this film, I have a very favorite scene. Ako bihira ako magkaroon ng paborito kasi I treat every scene in every movie the same way pero ito, meron dito na ang simple-simpleng eksena na umuwi (si Dexter) sa bahay."
She continued, "[Nasa] taas, sa kwarto [kasama si] Tatay, every time I edit that and every time I watch Enrique...I so loved him in that scene!"
According to Direk Cathy, Enrique completely transformed as Dexter in that scene.
She said, "Wala akong nakitang Enrique Gil, walang LizQuen factor. Wala! I just saw Dexter. And that's my favorite scene to date."
“Seven Sundays” tells the story of the four Bonifacio siblings (Dingdong Dantes, Cristine Reyes, Enrique Gil and Aga), who are forced to return to their childhood home when their Tatay Manuel (Ronaldo Valdez) is diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.
The main question is, as they confront their history, will they be able to reconnect and find redemption in each other?
It opens in cinemas October 11!
