Ex-siblings-in-law and present co-stars John Estrada and Gelli de Belen shared their stance on infidelity in relationships on “Tonight with Boy Abunda” yesterday, September 20.
The topic was brought up when Gelli explained that her character in the new primetime series “Magpahanggang Wakas” was caught cheating by her husband, played by John.
“‘Yung hinahanap [ng character] ko na kalinga ng magulang niya, kala nakita na sa kanya (John’s character), ‘yun pala [hindi], so naghahanap siya ng pagmamahal kahit saan,” Gelli explained.
Host Boy Abunda pointed out that cheating in relationships happen not because of gender but because of underlying problems and issues.
Both Gelli and John agreed.
“There's always two sides to a story,” Gelli said. “May mga dahilan kung bakit nangyayari ang mga bagay-bagay... maybe it's not meant to be, or maybe you're meant to learn something from it para mas maging maganda ang buhay mo.”
John's former wife happens to be Gelli's sister Janice de Belen.
In spite of this "history," both said they have a good relationship while on set of "Magpahanggang Wakas."
“Hindi naman siya 'yung naging asawa ko kaya okay kami,” John said with a laugh.
Gelli added, “Mahirap din naman magsu-sweet sweet kami eh parang magkapatid kami eh or ex-magkapatid or whatever you want to call it. Pero right now naman [okay kami].”
