Charo to make another film after 'Ang Babaeng Humayo'

By Chandral Selim

After a considerable 17-year absence from films, Charo Santos has come back with a vengance.

Her new film with internationally renowned filmmaker Lav Diaz, "Ang Babaeng Humayo (The Woman Who Left)," has been the darling of international critics and was awarded the prestigious Leone D'Oro (Golden Lion) at the 73rd Venice Film Festival.

With her renewed success in the film industry, people couldn't help but ask the ABS-CBN executive if she's game for more projects.

"If the material is good and the character is good, why not?" she said at the "Ang Babaeng Humayo" Media Launch earlier today, September 21.

Charo jokingly added, "Malay mo may kilig movie!"

She also joked about possible leading men, naming Daniel Padilla and Piolo "Papa P" Pascual as her main choices.

Charo has previously served as ABS-CBN's chief executive officer and president, retiring last year. She now serves as the company's chief content officer, president of ABS-CBN University, and executive adviser to the chairman.
