Irma Adlawan talks about the aftermath of the foiled robbery in their home

Character actress Irma Adlawan looks back on the foiled robbery that happened in their own home last February.

Irma and her son pinned down the thief who broke into their house in Kawit, Cavite.

Months after the traumatizing incident, Irma shared how the experience  changed the look of their home and their life.

"Para nang kulungan ang bahay namin sa dami ng grills." she shared when we asked her in an interview today, July 8. "Well I didn't want that kasi I wanted one open window for fire safety, hindi lang sa pintuan ang lalabasan mo, but in this day and age, medyo 'yun lang ang masakit ano, kaya nga binoto ko si Digong [President Rodrigo Duterte] eh (laughs)."

She recalled that their neighborhood used to be safe, saying, "I remember growing up in our place na nakakatulog kami na ang front door namin ay hindi na-lock, and nothing happened."

She added, "That place, our place, almost all ng nakatira dun sa barangay na 'yun ay magkakamag-anak. So alam mo kung sino 'yung taga -oon, taga-dito, anak nino, ni ganito, ni ganyan. But since most of them now are from another place, kasi may mga nagtayo na ng mga apartments so hindi na [same as before] eh."

"'Yun ang masakit sa lahat eh, no? I thought my son will be safe inside my house at lagi akong natatakot 'pag nasa labas siya ng bahay, 'yun pala sa loob ng bahay mangyayari 'yun."

The trauma still lingers, Irma confessed.

"Up to now, may mga times pa rin na medyo ninenerbyos ako or nakikita ko sa anak ko na agitated siya 'pag dumadating 'yung gabi. May ganun pa din eh," she shared.

But the particular incident just made them stick to the security of their home and that transferring is not an option.

"They will not do that to me. they should be the one transferring. The bad people are supposed to be the one leaving the place. That's been our home for a long time so, no," she said with conviction.

Irma plays the mother of Bea Alonzo in their upcoming teleserye under Star Creatives.
