Lav Diaz has done it again!
The award-winning filmmaker has broken into the international scene yet again with his latest masterpiece, “Ang Babaeng Humayo (The Woman Who Left),” starring ABS-CBN chief content officer, ABS-CBN University president, and executive adviser to the chairman Charo Santos-Concio and premiere actor John Lloyd Cruz.
The film is part of the Main Competition category in the 73rd Venice Film Festival to be held at the Lido, Venice from August 31 to September 10.
"Ito 'yung first time na kasama ako sa main competition! This is for the Philippines!" Direk Lav said in his interview with showbiz reporter MJ Felipe.
Charo, meanwhile, said as quoted by MJ, "I feel so blessed!"

“Ang Babaeng Humayo (The Woman Who Left)” marks the comeback film of Charo after 17 years, but according to her co-star John Lloyd, it was as if she never took a break from acting.
“Malaking tulong na si Ma’am Charo talagang the whole time I was with her in Mindoro, I never saw the Ma’am Charo that we know. She got really immersed in the character. 'Yung character 'yung ka-deal ko,” he said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
Produced by Sine Olivia and Cinema One Originals, the film also stars Michael de Mesa, Shamaine Centenera-Buencamino, Nonie Buencamino, Marj Lorico, Mayen Estanero, Romelyn Sale, Lao Rodriguez, Jean Judith Javier , Mae Paner and Kakai Bautista.
