'Pinoy Dream Academy' runner-up surrenders in Cebu for drug abuse

By Netchai Moldes

Jay-R Siaboc, "Pinoy Dream Academy" Season 1 runner-up to Yeng COnstantino, surrendered himself to the local authorities of Toledo City in Cebu, on Tuesday, July 12.

According to ABS CBN News, Toledo City police chief Samuel Mina confirmed that Jay-R, together with his cousin, surrendered at their station.

This is in view of the Duterte administration's intensified campaign against illegal drugs.

According to police chief Mina, Jay-R surrendered after hearing accusations in social media that he is a drug pusher.

The musician admitted his addiction but maintained that he's not a drug pusher. He noted that the nature of his job as a band singer led him to using illegal drugs.

He signed an oath to stop using illegal drugs together with other citizens who surrendered in their city.
