Baron Geisler, UP student make peace following controversial viral video

Khalil Verzosa, the University of the Philippines-Diliman student who posted the controversial "beast mode" video of actor Baron Geisler, now urges everyone to stop spreading the clip for they've already settled the matter.

In his Facebook status yesterday, May 18, Khalil stated that he and Baron have already spoken and that he already took the video he uploaded down. He hired the actor to star in their editorial design campaign about violence against women because he wanted to "apologize and to speak to the minds of people who look up to him."

"Baron and I spoke on the phone and resolved the issue between ourselves. when I uploaded the video i thought that was my form of justice, perhaps different from other people," said Khalil.

He stressed that all is well between them.

"So to end, we're all fine. I think Baron Geisler deserves enough. out of respect to him, i took down the video," he wrote. "imagine if you were the one harassed and a found footage of you harassing women or whoever, would you change for the better? we all need realize that violence isn't the answer, violence in all forms. I also want to ask everyone to stop sharing the video. we just want to put this issue behind us. Peace! #Peacemode #nonviolence #stopstreetharassment."

Baron then commented on this post with, "Salamat man!! Nakapagisipisip din ako. Yakap!!"

On the other hand, the actor explained on his Facebook page his side of whatever that's happened.

"Maraming salamat man!️ kng kayo tlga to I hope all ends well.. alam ko po mahirap ang mabash lalo na sa social media.. bilang isang tao, gsto ko intindihin ang bawat action natin.. lahat naman kasi magiisnap tlga...," he wrote.

Baron added that he understands that the students were still beginners and hopes that next time they take their "responsibility" seriously.

He said, "well they're just beginners so they don't know it yet but sana naman ginagawa din nilang professional ang galaw nila, at sana alam nila ung salitang RESPONSIBILITY total they're from UP po dba?? Mga wise and intelligent and knowledgable sila kng ganun, bu they still don't appreciate ung mga things na ganito.. so for me i can understand you pero ganyan po tlga nag snap nga kayo.. pero im sure nmn masama dn loob nyo dahil nakasakit kayo ng iba.."

Baron added, "iniisip ko nalang is kaya ganito nangyayari sa inyo kasi ito ang plano ng diyos, masama man ang pagkasabi ko pero feeling ko ginagawa nya kayong example for the sake of everyone to learn.. ang mga tao lang tlga ndi marunong mag appreciate ng things tlga.. soo sana maging masaya po kayo at magpatuloy sa masayang bagay.. good luck from now on.. at sa bagong chapter ng life nyo.. Hope na makatulong po ito sa inyo"

It seemed like what started in social media, ended in social media as well.
