Edu: 'Hindi ako nahihiya to say 'I love you' to my children'

Edu Manzano shares how his Luis Manzano was affected when he parted ways with former wife Ms. Vilma Santos.

"Actually, it’s sad when parents separate because children will always be the victim," he said in an interview with PEP.

The 60-year-old actor also shared how he never left his son's side during those hard times.

“You have to compensate. You have to be very, very open. You have to explain. You have to make him see na it’s heartfelt na bagamat maaaring nagkahiwalay sila o mga ibang magulang, pero hindi nabawasan yung pagmamahal sa kanya," Edu said.

Moreover, he said how those little gestures such as saying 'I love you,' hugs, or taps help in making their children feel safe.

“At the end of the day, you realize na yung konting dagdag na himas, konting dagdag na I love you’s, it helps. That’s why—I hope you don’t mind, hindi drama—kahit sa telebisyon, kahit in public, hindi ako nahihiya to say 'I love you' to my children," he said.

Luis is Edu's son to "Everything About Her" star Vilma.
