Since Valentine's Day is fast approaching, "Pangako Sa'Yo" lead star Kathryn Bernardo shared a recipe of one of her favorite sweet treats that you can make for your loved ones.
On her blog (kathbernardo.com), the Teen Queen posted how one can make the perfect pastillas, sans the bitterness and the "hugot" lines that Angelica "Pastillas Girl" Yap became viral for.
Kathryn prefers a milky pastillas with just a few ingredients needed: condensed milk, powdered milk, lime zest (optional), and sugar (optional).
Here are the steps she shared on her blog:
Step 1: In a bowl, all you have to do is to mix the condensed and powdered milk together, which are the two key ingredients. Mix it well until you get the consistency you want. You can always add more powdered sugar if you feel that it’s not thick enough or if it’s too sticky. I prefer to add a dash of lime zest for a citrusy flavor, but this is optional.
Step 2: Mold them into balls and line them up on a tray. This part is quite fun, haha! Make sure to use gloves!
Step 3: After molding each into a ball, it’s time to roll them on powdered milk. Some use sugar for this, but I personally prefer it milkier rather than sweeter. Aaaaand, that’s it!!! Your homemade pastillas is ready to be served. Pop them into the fridge if you want it chilled.
