"Hashtag Pagsubok. Sa health. Sa love."
This was Denise Laurel's answer to the members of the press when she was asked to describe his 2016 at ABS-CBN's Christmas Special backstage interview.
"Pero you know what, one thing that's constant is my wonderful relationship with my son and parent. So dun pa lang ang laki pa rin ng pasasalamat ko," the Kapamilya actress quickly added.
Denise went on to give an update about her health.
"I have cycts in my breast, in my lymph nodes, my ovaries. It's not cancerous but I still have it there," she explained. "It's caused by a lot of things like not eating right, not sleeping right, not working out as much as I can and not being healthy."
The 29-year-old actress relayed that she was cleared by her doctors and was given a go signal to work but with caution.
"Health is a constant struggle you know. 'Di lang pag nasabing clear ka, okay ka na. Kailangan baguhin mo 'yung lifestyle mo. So I'm focusing on getting healthy while working at the same time," she said.

Moreover, when she was asked about her ex-fiance Sol Mercado, Denise tried to evade it.
"I'm sorry I won't talk about it because I already gave my word. I said na just pray for us. He's a wonderful person but that's all i'm gonna say. The reason why I said that was because I needed some time alone. Everywhere I go, you know people keep talking about him. I just put that out there not to hurt anyone but for people to pray for us," she related.
It can be remembered that last October, Denise shocked everyone with her announcement that they have already called off their three-year engagement.
"Naku andami kong hini-heal. Katawan ko, puso ko, ano pa ba? I'm just letting God. Kung saan niya ako dalhin, doon ako," she shared.
The Kapamilya actress believes that time can heal all the wounds.
"It's also to be honest, weird. We've been together for a long time but I would like to think na we could be friends."
She then reiterated, "I don't regret anything kasi kung ano 'yung nangyari, sabi ni God."
In the end, Denise shared her realizations after all that has happened this year.
"Hindi mo naman alam ang mangyayari bukas so all you can do is everyday, give your best. Always give all the love that you can. Have all the laughter you can and always make thyepeople around you special because you don't know what's gonna happen," she stressed.
Denise is among the cast members of the blockbuster film "The Unmarried Wife" starring Dingdong Dantes, Paulo Avelino and Angelica Panganiban.
The film, directed by Maryo J. Delos Reyes, is still showing in some cinemas worldwide.
