John Lloyd Cruz has spoken up about the status of his current relationship with former girlfriend Angelica Panganiban.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News at the ABS-CBN Christmas Special last December 13, John Lloyd clarified that while they are not together as a couple, Angelica will always have a special place in his heart.

He said, "If anything, siyempre we don’t want to lose the friendship. Angelica has been my best friend and I think she will remain my best friend for life. Walang makakapagpabago noon."

When the subject of reconciliation came up, the celebrated actor quickly shut down that line of questioning, saying:

"Let’s not get ahead of ourselves right now. This is not the best time to talk about that."

The two confirmed their split early this year after three years of being one of the showbiz industry's most-talked about "power couples."
