Just like all of her fans, teen sensation Maris Racal is excited for her first major film with Star Cinema, “Vince and Kath and James.”
Speaking to PUSH last Friday, November 4, she related that doing the film was very fun and not stressful at all.
“The whole time hindi ako na-hassle, hindi ako nangarag. Super chill at super at home ang feeling namin,” she said.
Maris mentioned that to prepare for her character, who serves as the comic relief in the film, she watched a lot of comedy movies. She even emulated Kim Chiu’s character in the 2014 romantic comedy “Bride for Rent.”
However, she admitted that doing comedy was not really her forte.
“Na-challenge ako kasi sabi ni Direk (Theodore Boborol) prior to doing my first scene, sabi niya ‘O ikaw ang magpapatawa dito.’ Sabi ko ‘Huh? Hindi naman ako nakakatawa Direk.’ Pero sabi niya ‘Kaya mo ‘yan. Bakla ka dito,’” she shared.
The GirlTrends member also shared that she didn’t try to exaggerate her acting just to seem funny.
“Hindi ko sinobrang OA… instead of sobra-sobrang hyper na baklang girl, ginawa ko siyang subtle but funny… kasi pansin ko kapag mas simple lang, mas nakakatawa,” she explained.
Joining Maris in “Vince and Kath and James” are Joshua Garcia, Ronnie Alonte, and Julia Barretto.
The teen romance film is adapted from Queen Elly’s viral social serye and is directed by Theodore Boborol.
