After the heavy drama that is "Barcelona: A Love Untold" which proved their range as actors, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla together with director Mae Cruz-Alviar are looking to make a "light" movie this time around!

However, Direk Mae brushes off the notion that it will be in any way "easier" for Kathryn and Daniel.

The lauded director said, "Kasi every project naman, it's challenging kahit sabihin mo na yeah, romcom. But it's not easy because ang dami nang nagawa, ang dami na nilang nagawa, andami ko nang nagawa. So, how do we make it different?"

Direk Mae further explained, "It's the combination of us...what haven't we done, what haven't they done, what haven't I done. Plus, kung ano ang babagay na sa kanila, given their maturity now."

Direk Mae divulged that the new movie and Kathniel's roles in it will be an "elevation" from their past characters in movies - 2013's "Must Be...Love", 2014's "She's Dating the Gangster" and 2015's "Crazy Beautiful You."

Direk Mae said, "Parang, we have to elevate them. Iba naman dapat ang maibigay. There has to be something new, something different for the audience to watch out for."
