You might have heard the exciting news by now: "Vince and Kath and James" has been selected as Star Cinema's entry to the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival.

At the announcement press conference today, November 18, actor Ping Medina related what made "VKJ" a worthy inclusion to the film fest.

1. It has "re-invented" the movie as a form.

The quote: "This light romance comedy successfully reinvents 'the movie' with its fresh approach and fluid narrative, bolstered by a directorial style that is fresh and clean."

2. It's story knows no (generational) bounds.

The quote: "While it (is)...intended for millennials, it ('Vince and Kath and James') should appeal to all generations."

Based on what we know of the movie so far, we know that despite it's innovations in narrative, it is, in it's core, a classic love story.

Speaking of love...

3. It will give us a fresh take on love triangles.

The quote: "Strong points include highly believable characters that conduct a modern take on 'the love triangle,' this time through texting and online engagement."

4. It features today's most promising stars!

The quote: "The ensemble acting is excellent."

This movie stars Joshua Garcia, who has been dubbed as "The Next John Lloyd Cruz," Julia Barretto, who is the torch bearer of a show business family who gave us talents such as Claudine Barretto and Gretchen Barretto, not to mention that she's the daughter of Marjorie Barretto and Dennis Padilla.

Also in the cast is Ronnie Alonte, a Hashtags member who has proved his talent in performing, and of course, the stellar Maris Racal.

5. It is relatable.

The quote: "Dialogue is natural and credible, spiked with 'hugot' lines that ratchet up the 'kilig' factor."

Don't miss "Vince and Kath and James" at the 2016 MMFF, which kicks off Christmas Day, December 25.
