People surely stop Kylie Verzosa for a photo ops all the time, especially since she bagged the Miss International 2016 crown, however she revealed the tables were turned for her when she was in Japan.
In an interview with Push, Kylie shared the story about the much hyped photo she took with no less than President Rodrigo Duterte. A lot were even saying that it became Kylie’s “lucky charm" for winning the beauty pageant.
The President didn’t personally come to see her in Japan, but Kylie very much appreciated the he at least paused for that selfie.
“He was at a conference in Japan, it was at a state visit to Japan. A lot of people think I met him. No, I chased him for a selfie. I met him for one second. But what I like about that, he stopped for me. He didn’t stop for anyone else but me,” she said.
Kylie also narrated how their conversation went, which was just short and sweet.
“’Yung kasama ko, sabi niya, ‘President, si Miss Philippines.’ ‘Pres, pa-picture.’ I was fan-moding. I’m a fan. And he said, ‘O, Philippines.’ He saw my sash. So he stopped and took a picture with me,” said the beauty queen.
Kylie is the 6th Filipino to win the Miss International. She was crowned in Tokyo, Japan last October 27, 2016.
