Jaya gives a touching message on Mom Elizabeth Ramsey's first death anniversary

By Netchai Moldes

Queen of Soul Jaya shared on Instagram a heartwarming message on the first death anniversary of her mother, showbiz icon Elizabeth Ramsey last October 8.

In her message, she recalled how hard it is to move on from her mother's passing.

Days before Elizabeth's death anniversary, Jaya's estranged sister Susan Ramsey expressed her frustration over Jaya's decision about their Mom's resting place.

Part of her message contained that amidst the painful passing of her mother, she was able to find peace because they were able to spend the best times together, on stage and in real life.

"We did not have the perfect relationship but we were perfectly alright with our relationship. We deeply loved each other. We deeply respected each other. We loved being on the same stage. We sang, danced and laughed together for so many years. I miss her terribly. I miss the woman that connected with people like no one else did," she said

"I will always admire, respect, adore, and miss her. She was one of a kind. I will always be proud of her. I will always be sorry for all the wrongs I have done to her. I will always be thankful to God for letting me and Mama have our last deep talk and apologized to one another, we forgave one another," she added.

Jaya was also thankful for the strength that God gave her, now without her mom beside her.

"Thank God for giving me this unexplainable strength and wisdom to now face this world without my greatest defender. To my dear friends, whom I call family, and other colleagues and relatives that sent their concerns and love to me, you know that my love for all of you is what keeps me moving."

She also hoped that her actions will be a good reflection of how a great mother Elizabeth is.

"I hope and pray that whatever I do here will be a testimony to how great you have been as a mother. The past went away and the present and future remains to be seen. I promise to honor you by being a good, God-fearing, loving and helpful child. It won't be easy, but I will do it. And don't worry about me and the kids, maraming nagmamahal sa amin. Ma, I will carry your name for as long as I live, as long as I sing. We all miss you, we all love you. We all thank you...rest in God's eternal peace...🏽"

Elizabeth died last year at the age of 83 because of hypoglycemic attack due to diabetes.

Her remains were exhumed last Thursday, October 6 as requested by Jaya's sister, Susan.
