Kapamilya actor-singer Matteo Guidicelli will celebrate his 10 years in showbiz via a concert in his hometown Cebu.
In our exclusive interview with the half-Italian, half-Cebuano singer today, October 21, he shared, "It's going to be my first time. I performed already there as a guest artist but never as like a solo show. So, it's kinda scary because like Tito Martin Nievera always told me, 'Matteo, like Cebu is the toughest crowd ever' so it's kinda scary."
He further enthused that he owes "it all to Cebu" that's why he decided to hold his thanksgiving anniversary concert there. It's called "Matteo Made In Cebu."
Included in his repertoire are songs he grew up with as well as his favorite Cebuano song.
"Believe it or not there are a lot of old songs that I love and I like that when we were planning the repertoire, sabi ko ganito, sabi ni Direk Rowell (Santiago) ano ba 'yan parang ang tanda-tanda mo, puro matandang kanta 'yan," he shared.
Matteo added, "So we had to take out a lot because it's too old, it's too slow kumbaga. But a lot is still in there and it's exciting because Sir Louie (Ocampo) is gonna put like a new twist to them and stuff so it's gonna be cool."
There will be "a lot of rock songs, a lot of band songs," the former "Dolce Amore" actor also revealed.
His guests include Martin Nievera, KZ, G-Force, and Cebuano singer Kurt Fick, who is behind the Cebuano song "HAHAHA Hasula."
"Matteo Made In Cebu" will be on November 18 at The Waterfront Hotel and Casino (Lahug). Tickets are also available online.
