Industry veteran German “Kuya Germs” Moreno passed on at 3:20 a.m. today, January 8.
This was confirmed by his nephew John Nite. Kuya Germs was 82.
Fondly regarded by his colleagues as Master Showman, Kuya Germs suffered from a mild stroke in January of last year for which he got confined at the St. Luke’s Medical Center.
Nevertheless, he resumed his hosting duties on his late-night program in June.
Kuya Germs is an iconic star builder and talent manager, known for producing the long-running 80s program “That’s Entertainment” that gave rise to some of the most formidable stars like Lea Salonga, Judy Ann Santos, and Billy Crawford.
Over the years he continued to discover more stars and paid tribute to their contributions to the industry with the Philippines’ own version of the Walk of Fame, situated in Eastwood, Quezon City.
He has built bridges between networks, having shown his support to Kapamilya stars and even Star Cinema movies.
