MANILA - Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach on Tuesday reacted to a video showing a Colombian burning her effigy to celebrate New Year's Eve.

The minute-long clip, uploaded on Facebook by a certain Noider Almanza Barraza, has been making rounds online since Friday, sparking outrage from Filipinos.

In a live interview with Wurtzbach via satellite, "Umagang Kay Ganda" host Anthony Taberna asked the reigning Miss Universe if she was hurt by said the viral video.

"Nabalitaan ko 'yun," Said Wurtzbach. "Nag-research ako ng konti, nalaman ko na tradition nila, every New year, sinusunog nila 'yung bad memories para 'di na maulit sa susunod na Bagong Taon."
