MANILA – The remains of showbiz icon German “Kuya Germs” Moreno were laid to rest on Thursday after a final tribute.
Family, friends and former co-workers were emotional as they said their final goodbye to Moreno at the Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina on Thursday afternoon.
Among Moreno’s friends and colleagues who sent him to his final resting place were former first lady Imelda Marcos and celebrities Nora Aunor, Billy Crawford, Vina Morales, Shaina Magdayao, Lani Mercado, Jestoni Alarcon and Jackie Lou Blanco.
A popular host, actor, comedian and talent manager, Moreno died of cardiac arrest last January 8. He was 82.
Moreno began his career in show business in the 1960s. Before becoming an actor, he worked as a janitor and a curtain raiser at the Clover Theater.
His name was immortalized in Philippine showbiz as host and producer of the the now defunct youth-oriented show "That's Entertainment."
