Star Cinema's Toni Gonzaga was named Best Actress; Sylvia Sanchez as Best Supporting Actress

‘The Trial’ bags three awards at the 63rd FAMAS Awards Night

Star Cinema's family-drama film "The Trial" bagged important awards during the 63rd Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences, Inc. (FAMAS) Awards Night, Sunday, September 20, at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World in Pasay City.

The film got the Best Screenplay and the Best Story Awards for Ricardo Lee, Enrico Santos, and Kriz Gazmen. Sylvia Sanchez, on the other hand, was named the Best Supporting Actress.

Meanwhile, Kapamilya star Toni Gonzaga was hailed as the Best Actress for the Star Cinema film "Starting Over Again." She was also chosen as the Female Face of the Night.

Themed as "Throw Back Glam Day … A Look Back At Six Glorious Decades of Philippine Cinema," FAMAS named six multi-awarded actresses in each decade for the "Iconic Movie Queens of Philippine Cinema." These are Gloria Romero, Susan Roces, Nora Aunor, Maricel Soriano, Dawn Zulueta, and the youngest Sarah Geronimo.

Moreover, "Feng Shui" also received the Best Editing by Carlo Francisco Manatad and the Best Sound by Addiss Tabong.
 
The Best Musical Score was awarded to Cesar Francis Concio for "She's Dating the Gangster."

"EX with Benefits" lead and Sexy-Drama Box Office Star Coleen Garcia hosted the technical and special awards part of the event, along with the Ultimate Performer Sam Concepcion.

Jodi Sta. Maria, Pops Fernandez, and Richard Gutierrez served as emcees of the respected film award.
