MANILA - "Pangako Sa 'Yo" on Wednesday hit its highest-ever rating since its May 2015 debut, more than doubling that of its rival program, according to data from Kantar Media.
The hit primetime series starring Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo garnered a nationwide rating of 39.7 percent for its August 19 telecast. The number was higher than its previous highest viewership of 37.2 percent last June 5.
The feat coincided with the first-ever meeting of Amor Powers, portrayed by actress Jodi Sta. Maria, and daughter Yna Macaspac (Bernardo).
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN's other primetime offering similarly posted strong ratings for Wednesday. "On The Wings of Love," topbilled by James Reid and Nadine Lustre, had 25.7 percent, beating out GMA 7's "My Faithful Husband," which had 12 percent.
"Nathaniel," which tells the story of a story about an angel who was sent back to earth to restore the belief of humanity in God and remind them about the innate goodness that everyone possesses in their hearts, scored 38.1 percent opposite "Pari Koy" with 18.1 percent.
